What you will find
The lineup rotates month to month, but the regular mix is local produce and farm goods, honey, salsas and canned goods, baked treats, handmade soaps and candles, boutique and craft vendors, and usually a food or coffee option so you can browse with a drink in hand. Because it is monthly instead of weekly, vendors show up stocked and the crowd shows up ready, so it feels more like a little festival than a produce stand.
Local tips
Go early for the good stuff. The produce and baked goods that sell out are usually gone well before noon. In the summer months, early also means you beat the Texas heat.
Make a downtown morning of it. The market sits right on Broad Street, so you are steps from Forney's downtown shops and murals. Grab breakfast or coffee nearby, walk the market, then poke around the storefronts. Our things to do in Forney page has the full downtown rundown.
Kids and dogs do fine here. It is an open-air street market with room to wander. Bring water in July and August.
Confirm before you drive. Weather cancellations and special holiday markets happen. Check downtownforneymarket.com or our events calendar the morning of.
Want to sell at the market?
The market accepts vendor applications through its official site. Local makers, growers, and small businesses in the Forney area get priority, and spots for popular categories fill up fast, so apply well before the second Saturday you are aiming for.
