Texas Health Forney hospital

A $320 million, 62 bed acute care hospital. The building topped out in April 2026 and Texas Health has set fall 2027 for opening. Plans include an emergency room, surgical suites, labor and delivery, and advanced imaging.

Road work📍 FM 740/FM 548 from I-20 to FM 1641, about 4 miles through Mesquite and Forney
TxDOT plans to rebuild this two lane rural road into a four lane divided roadway with raised medians, a wider Mustang Creek bridge, and a 10 foot shared use path on both sides. A public hearing was held April 16, 2026. Still in design, not under construction yet.
