A new Tiger Spa Car Wash is coming to the corner of 223 S. FM 548, a modern freestanding facility about 5,659 sq ft. The City of Forney approved the site plan and construction is underway in 2026.
Target is open at Village at Gateway
Target's Gateway store is open, following its grand opening on Sunday, July 26. Target lists an approximately 148,000 sq ft store with Drive Up, Order Pickup, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, Target Optical and expanded fresh food.
Dick's Sporting Goods coming to Gateway
A 60,000 sq ft ground-up store, one of the largest retail boxes still to be built at Village at Gateway.
Village at Gateway: open now and coming next
Bath & Body Works, James Avery and Target are open at Village at Gateway. Ross, Five Below, Burlington, H-E-B, The Home Depot and BJ's Wholesale Club are also open along the Gateway corridor. EVO Entertainment is under construction and says its 82,000 sq ft movies, bowling, arcade and attractions venue is slated for fall.

Bath & Body Works is open at Gateway
Bath & Body Works is open in Forney. Current listed hours are Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM. Newly opened stores may adjust hours, so check the live listing before a special trip.
Birdies at The OC (Forney ISD)
An outdoor driving range, a pitch-and-putt course and indoor golf simulators, branded Birdies. Built for Forney ISD teams and the new OC Golf Academy, and open to the community. The tall netting along Innovation Blvd is this. It sits inside the wider $38.5M Multi-Use Community Learning Facility, which also adds expanded aquatics, gymnastics, an art studio and a kitchen and dining concept.
Texas Health Forney Hospital
A four-story, 245,000 sq ft full-service acute care hospital on about 27 acres, built for 115 beds with 62 to 64 opening first. Includes a 17-room emergency department, NICU and cardiology lab. The largest single investment in Forney's history.
Texas Health Forney Professional Office Building
An 80,207 sq ft medical office building on the hospital campus for physician practices and outpatient services.
EVO Entertainment Forney
An 82,000 sq ft entertainment complex, the largest EVO has ever built: nine theaters including IMAX, 22 bowling lanes, 125+ arcade games, rock climbing, a ropes course, bumper cars, laser tag, a bar and restaurant.
Slicks Entertainment at Trailhouse Park
A 31,743 sq ft venue with 16 bowling lanes, an arcade, a restaurant and bar, a patio, and OUTDOOR PICKLEBALL COURTS. The outdoor courts typically carry tall perimeter netting.
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse
A 6,888 sq ft sit-down restaurant with outdoor dining and 129 parking spaces.
Village at Gateway Phase 2
The second phase of the largest ground-up retail development in the southwest US: 200,000 sq ft on top of Phase 1's 500,000, plus multifamily sites. Anchors Target, H-E-B and Home Depot are already open.
Dallas Stars multisport complex

A 3,000 sq ft Chipotle at Village at Gateway. A second Forney Chipotle is separately listed near FM 548 and FM 1641.
Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill
A 2,629 sq ft fast-casual Mexican restaurant.
7 Brew Coffee
A drive-thru coffee stand headed for the Village at Gateway. Plans on the Sept 3 Planning and Zoning agenda show a 523 sq ft building with a 237 sq ft remote cooler, two drive-thru lanes with 25 stacking spaces and 16 parking spaces on 0.967 acres. Staff recommends denying the companion replat over outstanding review comments, so the timeline is not locked in.
Discount Tire
A 7,020 sq ft ground-up store on the US 80 retail corridor between FM 1641 and Gateway Blvd.
Solis Mammography
A 2,190 sq ft dedicated breast-imaging center. Solis runs 85 centers across nine markets.
CubeSmart Self Storage
A 128,900 sq ft complex of five self-storage buildings plus two RV canopies. Residents have raised traffic concerns about the school-adjacent location.
Clement Drive Shopping Center

50 acres marketed for a grocery anchor plus pad sites, office and healthcare. The most likely location for Forney's next major grocery announcement.

Gateway Modern Dentistry

Wells Fargo (Gateway branch)
A ground-up 3,629 sq ft Wells Fargo branch bank is registered with the state at an estimated $2.2 million, with construction slated to finish in early November 2026. No opening date has been announced.
Kokomo K-Dog, Coffee & Boba Tea
Korean corn dogs, mochi donuts, coffee and boba tea are coming to Forney. The chain's own site and dedicated Forney page confirm the city, but no opening date or storefront address has been announced.
Port of Subs
A Port of Subs sandwich shop is coming to Village at Gateway, in the same building as ATI Physical Therapy. The Forney Chamber has a ribbon cutting set for Friday, September 11, 4 to 5 PM, with the ribbon at 4:30. Free and open to the public. We have not been able to reach the chain's own store page to confirm whether the doors are already open, so check before you drive over.
James Avery
The James Avery jewelry store is open at Village at Gateway, listed by the Forney EDC among the corridor's newly open businesses on August 6, 2026.
America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses
America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses opened at Village at Gateway on Friday, August 7, 2026, per the Forney EDC.
ATI Physical Therapy
ATI Physical Therapy is open at Village at Gateway, Mon-Fri 7 AM to 7 PM, taking appointments at (469) 954-8289. Its Texas sales tax permit did not issue until August 19, well after the doors opened.
Card Stadium (trading card shop at The OC)
A trading card and collectibles hobby shop from the people behind the quarterly Card Stadium Expo in The OC Arena. Sealed sets, single cards, TCG favorites like Pokemon, and collecting accessories. Forney ISD students will help run the shop as hands-on retail and business training. Announced by The OC on Aug 10, 2026. No opening date has been published yet.
Archangel Education & Technology (The OC)
An education technology supplier opening a public storefront plus a student Learning Lab at The OC. The storefront is a drop-off spot for device repairs and sells discounted Samsung and ASUS tech. The lab is built for Forney ISD student certifications and hands-on IT training. Announced by The OC on Aug 10, 2026. No opening date has been published yet.
